An ordinance establishing an emergency

communication fund.



WHEREAS;  It has been determined by the city council that

the City of Forks would benefit from the

formation of an emergency communication program;



THE CITY OF FORKS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:



Section 1.  Authorization.  The city clerk-treasurer is hereby authorized to accept funds from Clallam County that represent the City of Forks proportionate share of the 1/10th of 1% emergency communications sales tax.  Said monies are to be deposited in the account noted below.



Section 2.  Establishment of fund appropriations and accounts.  The clerk-treasurer is further authorized and required to establish a fund known as the emergency communications fund and to create any accounts necessary for the receipt of monies for use in the program.  In addition, the sum of $25,000 is hereby budgeted for year 2004 to this fund for the purpose of establishing the fund and expending any monies from therein.



Section 3.  Effective date.  This ordinance shall take effect five days after its publication.
