An ordinance amending Forks Municipal Code Chapter 2.40

Regarding FEDSC



WHEREAS, the City of Forks established FEDSC in 1990 as an advisory committee to the City Council and the Mayor;



WHEREAS, there is a need to make changes to the operational structure of FEDSC;



BASED THEREON, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORKS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:



1.                  Amending FMC 2.40.040. FMC Chapter 2.40.040 is amended as follows with the strikeout text indicating text that will be deleted and the underlined text indicating new language to be inserted into this section:



2.40.040            Officers of the committee – Meetings – Quorum.

Immediately after their appointment, members shall meet and organize by electing from the members of the committee a chairperson, vice chairperson, a secretary and such other officers as may be necessary. It shall be the duty of the chairperson to preside at all meetings and proceedings of the committee. A quorum will be a majority of active committee members, not including vacant positions or positions held by committee members absent on approved leave. A simple majority of committee members  present at any meeting shall have the authority to carry any proposition.  A meeting of the committee shall be held at least once a month four times per year.



2.                  Effective Date.  This ordinance shall take effect five days after it has been published within the City’s journal of record as provided for by law.
